We are thrilled to announce the return of the Cambridge Women’s Open, hosted this year on the 17th of November! The Women’s Open offers not only high quality debates, but the opportunity to support and advance the representation of women in debate.
The tournament will have four rounds (5 minute speeches) with a break to semis (7 minute speeches if time allows).
Eligibility: All speakers should identify wholly or partly as women. Speakers of any and all experience levels are welcome.
Registration: £25 per team (Registration opens August 25th)
Judges: Judges should identify wholly or partly as women (this is not a strict rule if it prevents institutions from meeting N-1).
N-1 will apply to all institutional teams. Universities are asked to prioritize judges who identify wholly or partly as women, but this is not mandatory where they are otherwise unable to meet N-1.
All chair judges and breaking judges will identify wholly or partly as women.
Independent adjudicators will be able to apply for funding from the tournament.
